Pichon-Baron ist im Jahrgang 2020 deswegen so erfolgreich, weil das Team um den charismatischen Christian Seely MW den Erntezeitpunkt des Cabernet punktgenau erwischt hat. Das gilt auch für diesen gewaltigen Zweitwein mit seinem klassischen Cassis-Konfit-Bukett. Trotz seiner Dichte präsentiert er sich geschmeidig, reif und geschliffen in der Struktur. Ein „Tourelles“ mit verführerischer Stilistik für frühen Trinkgenuss und sehr hohem Spaßfaktor.

This gorgeous second wine is already hard to resist yet will keep for 15-20 years in cold cellars. This cuvée is always the more Merlot-dominated of the releases and is 64% Merlot, 29% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 7% Cabernet Franc that was brought up in 30% new French oak.“ (92–94)
